Why My Kids Love Our Artificial Turf (And Why I Do Too)

When we first installed artificial turf in our own yard, we were thinking about maintenance and durability. What we didn’t fully expect was how much our kids would absolutely love it.

From the moment the turf went in, our yard became a place they actually wanted to be.

A Yard They Can Use Every Day

Kids don’t care about perfect stripes or watering schedules — they just want a place to run, play, and be kids. Artificial turf gave us a soft, clean surface they can use year-round without worrying about muddy shoes, dead patches, or worn-out grass.

Whether it’s soccer, tag, or just rolling around, the turf holds up without turning into a mess.

No Mowing!!!!

I hated mowing every week and this is by far my favorite part and why I'm such a big fan of synthetic turf.

Safe, Comfortable, and Durable

Artificial turf provides a consistent, even surface that feels comfortable underfoot. It’s tough enough to handle constant play, but still soft enough for sitting, crawling, and backyard games.

For us, knowing the yard is safe, clean, and built to last makes it even easier to say yes when the kids want to head outside.

More Time Outside, Less Time Maintaining

Instead of spending weekends mowing, watering, or fixing bare spots, we get to spend that time actually enjoying the yard with our kids. The turf stays green, usable, and ready whenever they are.

That’s really the biggest benefit of all.

Why This Matters for Other Families

If you’re a parent who wants a yard your kids can actually use — without constant upkeep — artificial turf can be a game-changer. It creates a clean, reliable outdoor space that works for real life, not just looks good from the curb.

At Front Range Turf, we design and install artificial turf solutions with families in mind. We focus on proper installation, durability, and creating outdoor spaces that kids (and parents) love.

If you’re curious whether artificial turf is right for your family, we’re always happy to offer a free, no-obligation consultation.
